The “i”s Have It

You’re working on quoting coverage for a client, and a question pops up in the Rating Information that you’re not sure how to answer.  Let’s say you’re quoting a home that has Hardie Board siding.  Hardie Board siding isn’t an option under Construction Type.  What do you select?

Normally, you would contact the Underwriting Team via chat, email, or phone, but it’s Saturday afternoon and the client you’ve been working so hard to land is sitting across the desk from you.  You want to provide them with a quote right away, but you also want it to be accurate so that there are no surprises later.  Now what?

Fortunately, there are tools built into BriteCore that can help provide the answer that you are looking for.  From the Rating Tab, once you expand Rating Information, you will see a circle containing a lower case letter “I” by some of the items.  If you hover over that circle, it becomes clickable and will take you to a message box.  Inside that message box will be a link to more information.

In our example above, you would simply click the “i” next to Construction and pull up AFM’s External Cladding Definitions.  This document lists all of the construction types available to select in the dropdown box and provides a description of each.  You read through this document until you find your answer and now have the confidence to select Cement.  The day is saved!

The information found in these “i”s isn’t only good in a crisis.  They’re also a great tool to use if you would like to get more comfortable with accurately quoting AFM’s products.

Of course, AFM’s Underwriting Team is always available to help out during normal business hours, but even in the middle of the night, we want to make sure that you’re not completely on your own.
