If you’ve visited our refreshed website lately, in addition to our new logo and updated modern appearance, you’ve probably seen the “Get A Quote” buttons prominently displayed on our homepage. Clicking either of these buttons takes you to the same place, where a potential client would be able to enter basic information about themselves and the property that they would like to insure.
What happens when an individual fills in the information and clicks through to submit the quote request?
For most product types, the information received is sent via email to our Underwriting Team for review. AFM will review items such as the individual’s insurance score and loss history report, and will gather basic information from online sources such as the County GIS website about the property itself.
If there is anything noted in this quick review that doesn’t meet our guidelines, our staff will reach out to the requestor to let them know that we aren’t a good fit for the risk and to thank them for the opportunity to take a look.
If there are no concerns noted during this initial review, our Underwriting Team assigns the request to one of our independent agents closest to the property location who has proven to have a partnership mentality. While AFM doesn’t currently charge for this service, we do want to make sure that we are giving these warm leads to agents who embody our core values and who will represent AFM well. Our staff sets up a quote for the selected agent in BriteQuote, then sends them the quote number and the individual’s contact information so that they can reach out to the client to finish up the quote. Once that agent has reached out to the individual, it’s business as usual.
For Renters Insurance (HO-4) policies, the process is even more streamlined. An individual looking for this type of coverage can complete an application for coverage directly on our website and, if approved, purchase their policy from the comfort of their home within a matter of minutes!
AFM is always looking for ways to make the quoting process easier and more efficient for both potential insureds and our independent agents, and we feel that these advances are giant steps in the right direction.
