On April 12th, members of AFM’s staff participated both on the course and on the sidelines as volunteers in the Swing Fore Hope Golf Tournament benefiting Little Pink Houses of Hope.
Little Pink Houses of Hope is a non-profit organization headquartered in Burlington, NC whose mission is to empower and support breast cancer patients and their families. One of the ways that they fulfill this mission is by providing free of charge week-long vacation retreats that not only provide patients and their families with an escape from doctor’s visits and treatments but also with a sense of community among others who understand exactly what they are going through.
A total of 132 golfers and approximately 20 volunteers were involved in this event. To date, the total dollar amount raised from the tournament is $14,903, which exceeded their goal by almost $3,000.
It is important to AFM to support non-profit organizations in the local communities in which our employees and agents live and work. It’s even better when we can make a physical impact instead of just a financial contribution.
