Recently, members of AFM’s staff spent an afternoon volunteering at the BackPack Beginnings facility in Greensboro. Although their name may indicate otherwise, this organization does much more than distribute backpacks to children in the community. Their mission is to deliver food, comfort, and clothing to families with children under the age of 18 who reside in Guilford County.
AFM staff has been busy this summer with several fun activities!
AFM’s own Christiana Jarrett, Alicia Kline, and Karen Morris traveled to Washington DC to participate in the NAMIC Congressional Contact Program. This year’s delegation from North Carolina consisted of 5 individuals, which meant that AFM’s involvement was very noticeable.
On Friday, May 12th, several AFM staff members took part in a Habitat for Humanity build. AFM has partnered with Habitat for Humanity on several different occasions, and we always find this to be a wonderful cause to support.
On February 15, Painted Grape visited AFM’s home office in Graham for a special staff event. Several AFM team members attended and tried their hands at painting a lighthouse scene.
